My name is Linda and I work freelance specialising in digital audio reproduction and transcription based in the lovely county of Suffolk, England. I have three wonderful grown up sons, one beautiful granddaughter and a six year old black Labrador dog! 

 

My working life started in 1979 in Essex, fresh from secretarial college in London when I secured my first PA role working for the marketing director of a Dutch photocopy company in offices based in Loughton, Essex. Life taking its course, marriage led me out to Suffolk a few years later, where I became involved in the family business initially supporting the sales director and then on to fulfil the role of project co-ordinator on a major contract where I continued working until taking a break to raise my family.

 

In 2001, I began working as technical support to the small surveying team of a global loss adjuster at offices based in Colchester, Essex, where I spent six extremely happy years working with a great team involved in reinstating properties under insurance that had suffered from fire, flood, impact, explosion etc. Some projects were large, and some were small, but all were unique with properties being modern and new, old with listed status or anything in between, both private and commercial.

 

A move to Norfolk in 2006, led me to look for work closer to home, and I worked for a short period of time as an adjuster assistant for a loss adjusting company with offices in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, working directly with loss adjusters and insurance companies assessing small value property and contents claims, before moving on to work for a year as office manageress for a smaller family run demolition and site clearance business in Lakenheath, Suffolk.

 

In 2009 and still seeking suitable work closer to home, I secured a position as a claims adjuster working on livestock claims for an independent insurer at offices based in Norfolk. During my time here, the company was bought by a larger global insurer and then began a process of relocation to London. In 2015, not wanting the London lifestyle, I decided to embark on my freelance journey!

 

If I'm going to work freelance, what would I want to do? 

 

I decided to utilise my skills and set up business working as a Virtual Assistant. During this time, I have provided remote business support to clients based in other areas of the country, independent local businessmen, HR companies, previous employers, and delivered many, many transcription projects of a very varied nature across a wide range of business sectors working as a member of a transcription typing 'pool' or working directly with private clients. Working freelance has been a whole new experience and journey of discovery on many different levels!

 

I have always found it rewarding and fulfilling supporting others and I discovered on my freelance journey, that I just love the variety that typing work brings, from surveyor reports on buildings to loss adjuster insurance reports, police or fraud investigation reports, TV scripts, or just typing up a record of a family members life history. As my business has developed it is primarily focused on delivering a direct high quality personal digital audio reproduction and transcription service.

 

With very firm foundations in the surveying, insurance and loss adjusting industry and a love for supporting others in their quest to succeed or just being able to provide some temporary help to lighten the load along the way, I have a particular interest in supporting anyone who is working in or around these industries.

 

Armed with a wealth of experience transcribing various digital audio and handwritten work into hard copy across a wide range of business sectors, if you are a business or individual conducting interviews, investigations, focus groups, or even have a TV script or book that you are wanting turned from handwritten or digital audio into hard copy text and want to know who is handling your sensitive work without third party involvement, I have a particular interest in supporting you too.
